Went on and retired from navy as SMCS in 1979, Am living in Tuscaloosa Alabama, watching the TIDE ROLL. I seen the missle mishap also, quite a sight..
But my unforgettable experience was the cruise, at the time I was a side cleaner working for BM2 "Dusty" Rhodes. Man Watchstanders Liberty in RIO was
GREAT ""WOW"". Sorry to hear of the "Snorting Norton's demise, it was a great experience and actual pleasure. Had a Brother serving with me in the boiler room. Micky was his name he passed away about 3 years ago.. if anyone remembers me let me hear from you please!!
