Every time I turn on the news, I start remembering my days on the Sound.
With the events of the day, it's pretty hard not to think of all the
guys I ever met on the Norton Sound, and think of all those good times,
and the bad. The events of September 11, 2001 reminded me of something
I wrote back in 1975.

I LOVE THEE DEAR AMERICA
By Ernie Mueller, December 22, 1975
I love thee dear America
for your spacious skies above
I love thee dear America
for your majestic goodness and love
I love thee dear America
for your heritage divine
I love thee dear America
for your freedoms, they are mine
In times of strife you follow through
you make my life anew
Each passing day brings God’s greatness near
your beautiful Red, White and Blue
Your images are unshaken
to those of us who know
I stand by you in resolute
to fend all mighty foe
Your nature it is truly great
home of the free and brave
May your wisdom grow, your justice shine
your banner ever wave
I love thee dear America
for your justice rich endeavor
I love thee dear America
may you live on forever
I love thee dear America
for what my children be
I love thee dear America
from sea to shining sea

I hope that this finds you and your family well... I leave you with a few
words from British Labor Politician, Neil Kinnock, 1986...
"I would die for my country, but I would never let my country die for me..."
Regards,
Ernie Mueller
